1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Maios (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Maios is an AI-powered workspace that provides:

• Intelligent chat interface with AI assistance
• Note-taking and file management capabilities
• Google Calendar integration (when authorized)
• Content creation and organization tools
• Search and knowledge management features

3. User Accounts

Account Creation

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

Account Responsibility

• You are solely responsible for all content and activity in your account
• One person or legal entity may maintain no more than one free account
• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use the Service. We ask you to confirm it on the sign-up form, and after your first sign-in with Google. We do not ask for your date of birth. If you tell us you are not 16, we sign you out and delete the account that was just made.
• Accounts opened while the minimum age was 13 were confirmed by their owners to be at least 13 and stay open on these Terms

4. Acceptable Use

You May

• Use the Service for personal or business purposes
• Upload and store your own content
• Connect external services like Google Calendar (when authorized)
• Share content you have permission to share

You May Not

• Upload illegal, harmful, or inappropriate content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
• Use the Service to spam, harass, or harm others
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Upload copyrighted material without permission

5. Content and Intellectual Property

Your Content

• You retain ownership of all content you upload or create
• You grant us a license to store, process, and display your content to provide the Service
• You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to all content you upload

Our Service

• Maios and its features are protected by intellectual property laws
• You may not copy, modify, or distribute our software or service
• All trademarks and branding remain our property

6. AI and Third-Party Services

AI Processing

• Our AI features are powered by Google Gemini and other AI services
• AI responses are generated automatically and may not always be accurate
• You should verify important information provided by AI

Google Services

• Google Calendar integration is subject to Google's Terms of Service
• We are not responsible for Google service availability or changes
• You can revoke Google permissions at any time

7. Privacy and Data

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

8. Emotional Insights and Serious Content

Maios offers an optional feature called Emotional insights. It is off unless you turn it on in Settings, and while it is off nothing about how your writing feels is computed or stored.

If you turn it on, one clause applies that you should read before you do. Where your writing contains a passage suggesting a risk to your life, Maios may show that passage, and nothing else about you, to a single designated confidential responder bound by a confidentiality and data-processing agreement. That person reviews it and decides. If they judge it would help, we send you a confidential message containing help resources. No message is sent automatically, nothing is shared with anyone else, and this applies only to accounts that have turned emotional insights on. Where a deployment names no responder, the path does not run at all.

Maios is not a medical or crisis service, provides no diagnosis, assessment or treatment, and is not a substitute for emergency services or professional care. Nothing in this clause is a promise to detect risk, to detect it in time, or to intervene. If you or someone else is in danger, contact your local emergency number.

Records of anything this feature does are included in your data export and are deleted with your account. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

9. Service Availability

• We strive to maintain high service availability but cannot guarantee 100% uptime
• We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance or updates
• We are not liable for any disruptions to the Service

10. Termination

By You

• You may terminate your account at any time
• You can export your data before termination
• Termination does not relieve you of obligations incurred before termination

By Us

• We may terminate accounts that violate these Terms
• We may discontinue the Service with reasonable notice
• We will provide opportunity to export data when possible

11. Disclaimers and Limitations

Service Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Maios be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Maios from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Maios is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the effective date.
